Flatbed

In short

A flatbed is an open platform. No walls, no roof.

In plain words

Think of it as a beach for freight. Everything is out in the open, nothing is hidden.

Every pipe and every beam has to be secured by you with straps and chains.

If the cargo hates rain, you cover it with a tarp. By hand. In any weather.

It's harder work than a regular trailer.

But the rate per mile on a flatbed is usually higher.
