A truck driver got pulled over on the highway.

He didn't know what he was hauling, where he loaded, or where he was going.

He was hauling $250,000 worth of copper.

Nebraska, I-80 near Lincoln, October 7.

A truck is rolling along the shoulder when a sheriff pulls it over.

The driver is 22 years old.

He can't show registration or a bill of lading.

He agrees to a search.

In the trailer: about 20 tons of copper wire, 11 pallets.

And two bolt cutters.

No seal, no lock, pallets not secured.

They did eventually find the bill of lading during the search.

The load was picked up in Chicago and headed to an auto salvage yard in Iowa.

The sheriff says the freight was stolen and was being hauled by a carrier it was never entrusted to.

The driver was charged with receiving stolen property and possessing burglary tools.

I work with drivers every day.

A driver who doesn't know what's in his trailer? To me that's not a funny story. That's a red flag.
