On Oct. 27 thieves took more than 3,000 pounds of frozen crab from a trailer in Southwest Philadelphia. Two days later a similar theft hit a trailer of beef.

Key facts
On Oct. 27 in Southwest Philadelphia, on Island Avenue, six men broke into a trailer while the driver slept in the cab, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
They took two pallets of frozen snow crab, 50 boxes each: over 3,000 pounds, about 1.5 tons. The rest of the load was left behind.
The haul left in a gray Ford F-150 and a gray Dodge Caravan. One suspect chased the driver down the street. No arrests were made.
On Oct. 29, according to 6abc, thieves took four pallets of frozen beef from a trailer on Milnor Street in Tacony. Police responded just after 5 a.m. after the driver called.
The Inquirer lists other recent thefts too: in October, frozen ground beef worth $40,000 vanished from a trailer in Northeast Philadelphia. Police say it is too early to tell if the cases are connected.
