The UAW Local 1002 strike at the Bradford White plant in Middleville, Michigan, has been going since Sept. 16. More than 1,200 workers are taking part. It is the plant's first strike since 1978.

On Sept. 30, at the Crane Road entrance, a truck leaving the property drove through a crowd of pickets. It hit a worker, Chad Hall, who was thrown into a woman, and then the truck drove off.

Bradford White said the driver is not its employee but works for an outside carrier. The company banned that carrier from delivering to all its sites over aggressive behavior.

A week earlier, a passenger car had already hit a protester as it left the property.

As of Oct. 5, the Barry County sheriff had been to the scene and is investigating. No charges have been filed against the driver yet.

A reminder: before delivering to a warehouse with a strike, check the conditions ahead of time. The ELD clock keeps running anyway.
